Cavanaghs - a Deloitte Best Managed Company

Cavanaghs of Charleville Ltd has re-qualified as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme which took place in Dublin last weekend. Cavanaghs of Charleville Ltd was first recognised as a Best Managed Company in 2012. The company, which demonstrated superior business performance for a second year running, was recognised at a gala awards dinner in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on 01st March, 2013. Former Taoiseach and Chairman of IFSC Ireland, John Bruton, was special guest speaker at the event.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Irish Life Corporate Business, recognises indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest levels of business performance.

Commenting on the award, Martin Condon, Joint Managing Director, said: “This is a very important award for us. In order to re-qualify for this process and to continue as a ‘Best Managed’ company Deloitte insists on carrying out due diligence on all aspects of our business. For Cavanaghs to come through this process and be retained as a Best Managed Company, is a huge vote of confidence for us and to all of our customers.”

In total there are just 80 companies in Ireland that are designated as ‘Best Managed Companies’ with 51 of those coming through the re-qualifying process. When Cavanaghs of Charleville was originally added to this list in 2012, it was actually singled out by Deloitte as Winner of the Overall Award for Best Managed Company that year.

Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte and judging panel member commented: “This year’s Best Managed Companies represent the best of innovation, creativity, dynamism, tenacity and excellence in the indigenous sector. Deloitte is proud to celebrate their success and potential. These awards acknowledge their hard work and commitment and we are delighted to showcase their achievements.”

The Best Managed Companies Awards Programme was created to recognise the overall success of a company, including management strength, ability to innovate, strategic initiatives and financial performance – all the elements that contribute to a Best Managed company. The ’Best Managed’ designation is an important marketing tool for the winning companies – but, perhaps most importantly, the award provides a reason to celebrate the efforts of the entire company.
