Explorer will be the first vehicle to power off the assembly line at the new Ford Cologne EV Centre in Germany. Equipped with futuristic looks and a concept car-like, ultra-modern, five-seat interior, it offers a seamless digital experience to meet the demands of Europe’s most tech-savvy customers. Explorer will initially be offered in 2 highly specified series: Select and Premium.

Charge at home or on the road

Fast charging is a built-in feature of the new Ford Explorer. Whether at home or on the road. The Blue Oval Charge Network features 1,300 charging locations across Ireland including Ionity High Speed DC chargers. The Explorer promises to deliver between a 10% and 80% charge in 25 mins on high speed capable charging.

Adventure Loves a Big Screen!

The Ford Explorer cabin features a 14.6″ moveable high-resolution touchscreen with tiltable functionality that allows you to find the optimal display for your journey. Once on, your sound is delivered through a precision Soundbar. The SYNC Move fully connected infotainment system wirelessly integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A 5 seat soft-touch interior adds luxury to the ride. Flexible storage options with hidden storage locker (behind the touchscreen), 450 litre boot storage capacity (in 5 seat mode) and a generous 17L Mega Centre Console and careful use of Ambient Lighting to illuminate these areas makes the Explorer look as good as it feels.

Explorer Select is equipped with a high level of standard equipment: 14.6” SYNC Move touchscreen, 7-speaker sound system including the standout soundbar mounted on the dashboard, as well as powered and heated driver’s seat with memory and massage functionality.

This high level of technology includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and a rear-view camera with front and rear parking sensors to assist every drive.

Select also features LED headlamps with auto high and low beams, 19” alloy wheels and sport style seats with an integrated headrest and partial Sensico trim. All as standard.

Explorer Premium. And there's more.

The step up to Explorer Premium offers an elevated specification worthy of the name.

A large Panoramic Roof, 20” Alloy Wheels and Hands-Free Power Liftgate are included as standard together with full Sensico trim and LED interior ambient lighting that can be tailored in countless ways via the SYNC Move touchscreen.

Bold New Design

This bold new crossover will lead the way for a new era in Ford cars built with an electric powertrain. Its futuristic and aerodymamically designed body, is less than 4.5m long. Whilst space on the inside is optimised, it will still be compact enough to navigate and park in the most demanding city locations.

Enough space for your weekend of adventure

Practical as well as smart, the movable screen conceals 'My Private Locker' for securely storing valuables. For bulky items, the 17-litre capacity MegaConsole’s clever storage is roomy with space enough for multiple 1.5-litre drinking bottles or a laptop. That leaves the boot free for luggage, camping kit and sports equipment. Altogether, that makes for storage of about 450 litres in five-seat mode.
